WE HEART NUR
NUR OZDAMAR is a shining and original spirit. Born and raised in Istanbul, Nur completed her MA in Design Management at the University of the Arts London, focusing her studies on the intersection of brands, music, and Design Thinking. Professionally she’s a strategist and sees the world through the lens of creativity. She wrote her MA thesis on the relationship between hip-hop and design thinking!
In 2010 Nur arrived in New York City and since that time has flourished as a creative marketing executive with a story that includes chapters working with Cornerstone, Translation, Viacom, FRUKT and Universal Music in NYC and LA. She has worked with brands, artists and partners including Sonos, Pepsi, Complex, Target, Mc Donald’s Coca-Cola, The Weeknd, Pusha T and Kanye West. Nur is exceptional at connecting the right dots, all over the world! She’s currently preparing to relocate to London where she will start a new chapter - possibly in the entertainment industry, but as that story is still unwritten let’s not put any labels on it just yet. Instead, I invite you to pop the kettle on, pull up a chair and draw in this very special story.
In October of 2018, Nur made the brave decision to draw her NYC-living chapter to a close. She decided to temporarily relocate to Istanbul with the purpose of planting a new life in London. Nur is a beautiful rose and she has given so much of herself to her community, friends, and artists during the years that she made the U.S.A. her home. I wanted to ensure that she documented this time and so I equipped her with a Polaroid camera and set her the task of telling this story. My curiosity wanted to explore what all these micro-stories might look like when reflected back to us.
